Protection Salt

Salt has the power to weaken the forces of the supernatural beings and is effective protection against folkloric and malevolent beings. Place salt around the house for protection, or carry salt in case you find yourself face-to-face with a manananggal!

The pouch is made of binakol, a handwoven fabric from the Ilocos and Cordillera regions of the Philippines. The fabric’s handwoven pattern, called alipugpog or whirlwinds, wards off and distracts evil spirits due to its dizzying optical design. Traditionally, binakol is a ceremonial cloth used for protection.
