One of the most famous aswang (monster) of the Philippines, the Manananggal is a flying, self-segmenting creature. At night, she separates from her bottom half to find her next meal consisting of fetuses, blood, or different human organs. The only way to kill her is by finding her lower half, usually hidden in the woods or in banana forests, and sprinkle salt, garlic, or ash on the exposed flesh to prevent her from reattaching. (Read more here!)

Our crochet plush is wearing all black and wearing a witch hat. She is able to be separated and re-attached by the magnetic clasps on the body. The wings are wired so you can position them in different ways! Each "half" of the manananggal has a keychain so they can be clasped separately (maybe as a macabre best friend charm?)"

The crochet manananggals are crocheted by our Filipino crochet artist, Vivienne, from South Cotabato. Due to the handmade nature of this item, slight variation may occur.
